How it works
Pick your tank type and enter the numbers from your test kit or meter. Leave a field empty to skip it. Each value is checked against the usual range for a typical community of that tank type, the same ranges the Aquairi app uses for its verdicts.
Some species need different conditions, for example soft-water fish, hard-water cichlids or demanding corals, so a value outside the range is a prompt to check, not automatically a problem. Ammonia and nitrite should be zero in any established tank: a reading means the biological filter is not keeping up.
Stability matters more than hitting exact numbers. Change pH, temperature and salinity gradually, over days rather than hours, and look at the trend across several tests rather than at a single reading.
Frequently asked questions
Do a partial water change with dechlorinated water at the same temperature, feed less, make sure the filter is running and retest the next day.
Many corals, especially small-polyp stony corals, do best in nutrient-poor water, so reef targets keep nitrate at about 5 ppm or less. Fish-only marine tanks tolerate more.
Usually not on its own. Retest to rule out a test error and watch the trend. Sudden changes stress fish more than a steady value slightly outside the range.
