Delete your account and data
Last updated: 2026-08-20
You can delete your Aquairi account and everything stored with it at any time, straight from the app. This page explains the steps, what gets removed, and what to do if you can no longer sign in.
1. Delete from the app
Deletion takes three steps and needs no approval from us:
- Open Aquairi and go to Settings → Privacy → Delete account.
- Read the summary of what will be removed and confirm the request.
- Your account is locked right away and enters a 7-day grace period.
Changed your mind? Sign in again within those 7 days and the request is cancelled — nothing is lost. After the 7 days the deletion runs and can no longer be undone.
2. What gets deleted
When the grace period ends, we remove:
- your profile and email address;
- your aquariums and their settings;
- water parameter records and measurement history;
- inhabitants and equipment;
- schedules, tasks and the event log;
- photos and other media you uploaded;
- posts, comments and likes in the community;
- direct messages you sent;
- gamification progress: experience, levels, streaks, badges, quests;
- diagnostic logs sent from the app.
Data is removed from primary storage and cascade-deleted from the related services (social, gamification, history, media). Encrypted backups follow their own rotation schedule, so copies can survive there for a short while before being overwritten. Aggregated, non-identifying analytics that cannot be linked back to you may be kept for up to 12 months.
3. Export your data first
Deletion is permanent, so export anything you want to keep before you start: Settings → Privacy → Export. The archive is delivered as a ZIP file within 24 hours.
4. No access to the app?
If you cannot sign in, or you have already removed the app, send a deletion request from the email address of your account to privacy@aquairi.app.
Use "Account deletion request" as the subject — the link above fills it in for you. We reply within 30 days, as the GDPR requires, and may ask one question to confirm the account is yours.
