Habitat
Melichthys vidua is a triggerfish of Indo-Pacific reef slopes and drop-offs, recognised by its pink-edged tail. It feeds on algae, detritus and small invertebrates; relatively less destructive than some triggers but still a risk to ornamental shrimp.
