Overview
The Odessa Barb (Pethia padamya) is a small cyprinid native to a restricted range in central Myanmar. Mature males display a broad ruby-red lateral band along iridescent silver flanks, particularly during display behaviour.

Habitat
Native to seasonal pools and slow-flowing tributaries of the Ayeyarwady (Irrawaddy) drainage in Myanmar.

Diet

Breeding
An egg-scatterer that spawns over fine-leaved plants in soft, slightly acidic to neutral water.
