Habitat
Endemic to Lake Tanganyika, inhabiting rocky shorelines. The largest Julidochromis species; forms monogamous pairs that defend rocky territories and spawn in crevices. Marked with horizontal stripes; feeds on invertebrates and biofilm grazed from rocks.
