Overview
The Golden Wonder Killifish (Aplocheilus lineatus) is a larger killifish from south Asia. The selectively bred xanthic form displays a metallic gold body with iridescent green and blue scales. The species is a surface-dwelling predator and a strong jumper.

Habitat
Native to ponds, ditches, rice fields and slow streams across India and Sri Lanka, often in soft, slightly acidic to neutral water with floating vegetation.

Diet
A predatory carnivore. Offer live or frozen foods (bloodworms, brine shrimp, small earthworms, mosquito larvae). Will also accept floating pellets once trained.
Compatibility
A semi-aggressive surface dweller that will eat any fish small enough to fit in its mouth. Keep alone or with similarly sized robust species. A tight-fitting lid is essential.
Breeding
An egg-depositor. Eggs are attached to floating plants or spawning mops and incubate for around 12-14 days at typical aquarium temperatures.
