Overview
CW028, the Super Schwartzi, is an undescribed callichthyid catfish from the Rio Purus drainage. It resembles Corydoras schwartzi but carries bolder, more continuous flank lines and prominent white pectoral and dorsal spines. It is a peaceful, sociable bottom-dwelling shoaler.

Habitat
Sources associate CW028 with the Rio Purus system; some references cite the lower Rio Purus and Solimoes in Brazil, others the Rio Purus in Peru. It is described as inhabiting relatively clear, fairly fast-moving waters and is best kept on fine sand in the aquarium.

Diet
An omnivore that searches the sand with its barbels. It accepts sinking prepared foods alongside frozen and live items such as brine shrimp and bloodworms.
Compatibility
Temperament is peaceful, and it is described as a good community fish compatible with non-aggressive tank mates. It is a shoaling species best kept in groups, and large or aggressive cichlids should be avoided.
Breeding
It is an egg-depositor with intermediate breeding difficulty. It differs from C. schwartzi in having near-continuous flank lines rather than the broken, dot-like markings of true schwartzi, with brighter white spines.
