Overview
Corydoras concolor, the slate corydoras, is an armoured catfish of the family Callichthyidae. It is a solid-coloured, peaceful schooling species; mature males develop an orange tinge in the dorsal fin. It is a facultative air-breather.

Habitat
The species occurs in freshwater, demersal habitats of the Orinoco River basin in South America. It lives over the bottom of tropical waters.

Diet
Corydoras concolor is an omnivore that forages along the substrate. In aquaria it accepts sinking dried foods supplemented with small live and frozen items.

A peaceful bottom-dwelling species best kept in groups of six or more. It suits community tanks with tetras, rasboras and otocinclus and should not be combined with aggressive cichlids.
