Using the Knowledge Base in the Aquairi App

The Aquairi app has a built-in knowledge base of fish, plants, inverts, corals, equipment and more. Learn to browse and search it and add a species to your tank.

The Aquairi app comes with a built-in knowledge base (KB): a library of species and topics you can look things up in without leaving the app. It is useful both for learning and for setting up your tanks correctly, and the AI assistant draws on it too.

What is in the knowledge base

The KB covers a wide range of aquarium subjects, each with care details such as requirements, compatibility, size and treatment information. Categories include:

  • Fish, plants, invertebrates and corals
  • Equipment
  • Diseases
  • Aquascape styles
  • Food types

Browsing and searching

  1. Open the knowledge base in the app.
  2. Browse by category, or use the search to find a specific species, disease or topic by name.
  3. Open an entry to read its care details, such as its requirements, adult size, compatibility or, for a disease, its treatment.
  4. Use what you learn to plan stocking, check compatibility, or identify and address a problem.

Adding an inhabitant from the knowledge base

The knowledge base is also wired into the add-inhabitant flow. When you add an inhabitant to one of your aquariums, you can search the KB and pick a species directly, which adds that species to your tank with its details attached. This keeps your stocking list accurate and links each animal or plant to its care information.

How it works with the AI assistant

You do not have to search the knowledge base yourself to benefit from it. When you ask the AI assistant a question, it can search the KB for you and cite the entries it used, so an answer about a species or a disease can be backed by the same reference material you can browse manually. The two work together: browse the KB to read in depth, or ask the assistant for a quick, sourced answer.

A good beginner habit is to use the knowledge base at every stage of keeping a tank. Before you buy, look up a candidate species to check its size, requirements and compatibility. While setting up, read the entries for the plants, equipment or aquascape style you are considering. And if something goes wrong, search the disease entries to compare symptoms and read the treatment notes before acting. Because the same entries feed the AI assistant, anything you learn by browsing is consistent with the advice it gives.
