Tracking Equipment and Maintenance in Aquairi

Add your filter, heater, light and other gear to each aquarium so the app tracks install dates and replacement cycles, and tells you when a part is due for maintenance.

Aquarium equipment does not last forever: filter media clogs, lights dim, and parts wear out, often slowly enough that you do not notice until performance drops. The Aquairi app lets you record your gear for each aquarium and track its lifecycle, so the app can tell you when something is due for replacement or maintenance. This guide walks a beginner through setting it up.

Open the Equipment section

Open the aquarium you want to manage and go to its Equipment section. This is where you list the gear running on that tank and see its maintenance status.

Add a piece of equipment

Add each item of gear and describe it so the app can track it.

  1. Choose the Type that matches the item: filter, skimmer, heater, light, pump, co2, air-pump, test-kit, substrate, water-treatment, or other.
  2. Set the install date so the app knows how long it has been in service.
  3. Optionally set a replace-every-N-days cycle if the part has a regular service or replacement interval.
  4. Add any notes, such as the model or last service detail, then save it to the tank.

Update or remove equipment

When you service or replace a part, update its maintenance record so the countdown to the next service starts fresh. If you take a piece of gear out of the tank for good, you can remove it from the equipment list to keep it accurate.

Why install and replacement dates matter

Recording install and replacement dates matters because so much aquarium gear wears out gradually. Filter media and chemical media lose capacity, light output fades over months even while the lamp still glows, and pumps and heaters age. Tracking dates means you replace or service these on time, rather than after a problem appears, which keeps the tank stable.
