Using the AI Assistant in the Aquairi App
The Aquairi AI assistant answers questions about your own tanks, searches the knowledge base, and can take actions like logging a parameter. Learn how to start a chat.
The Aquairi app includes an AI assistant that can answer questions about your aquariums in plain language. Unlike a generic chatbot, it knows your tanks: it can see your aquariums, your recorded parameters and your history, and it can search the Aquairi knowledge base to back up its answers. This guide walks a beginner through using it.
Starting a conversation
- Open the AI chats tab, which lists your existing conversations.
- Start a new conversation; you can optionally tie it to a specific aquarium so the assistant focuses on that tank.
- Type your question in everyday language and send it.
- Read the reply, then keep asking follow-up questions in the same conversation.
What you can ask
Because the assistant knows your data, you can ask practical, personal questions rather than only general ones. For example: 'Why is my pH dropping?', 'Is this fish compatible with mine?', or 'When did I last change the water?'. When it draws on the knowledge base it can cite its sources, so you can check where an answer came from. You can also attach a photo, for instance to ask about a fish or a plant problem.
Letting the assistant take actions
The assistant can do more than talk: when you ask, it can help you take actions in the app, such as logging a parameter or an event, setting up a schedule, or adding an inhabitant to a tank. You ask in plain language (for example, asking it to record a reading or add a fish) and it helps carry that out, so you can keep your tank up to date without leaving the chat.
Limits and requirements
The AI assistant is part of the app's AI feature, which requires the appropriate subscription. There are also fair-use limits on how many messages you can send, shown in your usage (for example, on the order of around 50 messages per day and around 200 per week). If you reach a limit, you can continue once it resets.
