Habitat
Endemic to a restricted area of the south-eastern shoreline of Lake Malawi (Boadzulu Island and Chinyankwazi Island). Inhabits rocky habitats at depths of 3-25 m; one of the more peaceful mbuna and a recommended starter cichlid for Lake Malawi biotopes.
