Extremely hardy and fast-growing — can cover rock surfaces quickly. Best kept on its own isolated rock to prevent it from overtaking the tank. Closes when disturbed.

Habitat
Pachyclavularia viridis (green star polyp) is an encrusting soft coral of Indo-Pacific reefs that forms a purple mat from which green polyps extend. Powered by symbiotic algae, it is hardy and fast-spreading and should be sited where it will not overgrow other corals.
