Habitat
Endemic to Lake Malawi, inhabiting the rocky habitat zone. A specialised scale- and fin-eater (lepidophage) that mimics the colouration of various mbuna to approach prey unnoticed. The only species in the genus Genyochromis; a maternal mouthbrooder.
