Habitat
Endemic to Lake Malawi, inhabiting sandy zones in shallow water. Sifts mouthfuls of sand to extract invertebrates and organic matter. A large, peaceful sand-dwelling hap and maternal mouthbrooder requiring a deep sand bed and spacious aquarium.
