Tolerates a very wide range of conditions including cold water, making it virtually indestructible for beginners.

Habitat
Native to warm temperate South America (southeastern Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay). Most plants in cultivation are male clones reproduced vegetatively. Invasive in many regions including parts of North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
