Cryptocoryne lutea is an aquatic plant in the family Araceae. A compact Cryptocoryne with slightly wavy leaves that range from green to brownish depending on light levels. Exceptionally hardy and one of the most tolerant Cryptocoryne species, rarely experiencing crypt melt.

Habitat
Endemic to Sri Lanka, where it grows along shaded streams in the south-western part of the island. One of the most tolerant Cryptocoryne species in cultivation, less prone to "crypt melt" than most relatives in the genus.
