Habitat
Widely distributed across Southeast Asia from Thailand and Vietnam through the Malay Peninsula to the Greater Sunda Islands. Inhabits slow and standing waters with dense vegetation. Produces an audible croaking sound using specialised pectoral-fin tendons, especially during courtship and territorial disputes.
