Napo Corydoras Care Guide
Corydoras napoensis is a small, peaceful schooling catfish from the western Amazon basin, best kept in groups of six or more on soft sand.
Overview
Corydoras napoensis is a small armoured catfish from the western Amazon. Seriously Fish and FishBase report a standard length of around 4-5 cm. It is a peaceful, bottom-dwelling schooling fish well suited to soft-water community aquaria.

Habitat
According to Seriously Fish the species occurs in the Rio Napo and Rio Aguarico in Peru, the Rio Amazonas and Rio Atacuari in Colombia, and the Rio Nanay in Peru. FishBase places it in the western Amazon basin of eastern Ecuador and Loreto, Peru. It inhabits small tributaries, creeks, flooded forest and sand banks.

Diet
Omnivorous. Seriously Fish recommends sinking pellets or tablets as a staple, supplemented with live or frozen foods such as Daphnia, Artemia and bloodworm.
Compatibility
Very peaceful and gregarious. Seriously Fish suggests small characins, cyprinids, anabantoids, dwarf cichlids and other peaceful catfish, while avoiding large or aggressive species. A soft sand substrate protects its sensitive barbels.
Breeding
An egg-depositor. Seriously Fish notes females are rounder and broader-bodied than males, recommends a ratio of around two males per female, and reports eggs hatching in 3-5 days.
