Corydoras agassizii is a medium-sized armoured catfish of the family Callichthyidae. It has rows of fine spots and a dark spot on the dorsal fin. It is a peaceful, schooling species best kept on soft sand in groups.

Habitat
The species occurs in the Amazon River basin near the border of Peru and Brazil. It is a demersal freshwater fish and shows facultative air-breathing.

Diet

Breeding
Corydoras agassizii is an egg-depositor; breeding difficulty is considered intermediate.
